Mother of Ghana’s self-acclaimed dancehall King, Shatta Wale has paddled into the latest media debate between her son, and the late Ebony, over the VGMAs ‘Artiste of the Year award’.
Most entertainment pundits and analysts since last year have tipped Ebony to win the prestigious Artiste of the Year award, looking at her exploits within the year under review.
However, according to Madam Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, Shatta Wale’s mother, there is no way the late dancehall diva is going to win the ‘Artiste of the Year Award’ at the coming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Rossy of Razzonline, Madam Avemegah disclosed that Ebony can never win Artiste of Year while her son Shatta Wale is competing strongly in the race.
“I’m telling you that whatever the case may be, my son is going to take it…so I cannot tell you that someone is going to take it and leave my son…my son is supposed to take and he will take it,” she insisted.
Shatta’s mother added that she really knows the kind of charisma her son holds and there is no way something will pass by him without him(Shatta) getting his hands on it, and people must accept that.
“There is one thing people don’t want to know, I know the charisma my son has; there is nothing that will pass by him, he is going to take it no two ways about that,” She added.
The controversial dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was sidelined by the board of the VGMAs four years ago, after dragging the award scheme into disgrace.
Now, the ‘Ayoo” hitmaker is back to the VGMAs and will face stiff competition from Ebony, Sarkodie, Joe Mettle and rival mate, Stonebwoy for the top award.
The next VGMAs event will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on April 14, 2018, with the celebration jam slated for April 28, 2018, in Tema.
