James Aboagye, a popular Kumasi based movie producer has encouraged the family of Ebony Reigns to summon Bullet, the CEO of Rufftown Records and his artist Wendy Shay before the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II for defamation.
According to the movie producer, using the name of the late singer for a publicity stunt is a very immoral act that is frowned upon by the traditional rulers of Ghana and as the father of the late artist is an Akan, he should pick up the issue with the traditional authorities.
Speaking on Abusua FM in Kumasi, James Aboagye stated its unheard of to use the name of a dead person for publicity in a demeaning manner that Bullet and Wendy Shay have done.
James Aboagye further wondered why some artist managers still use the archaic method such as negative publicity which has nothing to do with the talent of their artist to hype their songs.
He further reiterated his calls on Ebony Reigns parents to summon Bullet and Wendy Shay to Asantehene’s palace to answer for their “irresponsible action”
James Aboagye was reacting to the publicity stunt pulled by Bullet and Wendy Shay using Ebony Reigns’ name to hype Wendy Shay’s new song, “The Boy Is Mine”
An audio of a supposed girlfriend of Bullet who caught Bullet bonking Wendy Shay got leaked a week ago. The lady among other things alleged she caught Bullet bonking Ebony Reigns when she was alive.
These came to confirm the rumors of Bullet dating Ebony but a few days later, it turned out the leaked audio was scripted by the Rufftown team to hype Wendy’s new song.
This has infuriated many Ghanaians who have condemned the use of Ebony’s name in such a derogatory manner by Bullet and Wendy Shay.
