Abeiku Santana, a member of the Rufftown Records management team revealed earlier in an interview that they only know of Ebony’s friend, Francisca Nkansah Kuri, who also died in the accident and not the military officer and the driver
“I do not know any driver, the car doesn’t belong to her… but I know the other lady who is a friend and a member of the team as well. I do not even know the military officer as well.” Abeiku Santana said on Accra based Citi Fm.
However, Nana Opoku Kwarteng, father of Ebony in his first interview after the occurrence, disclosed that Lance Corporal Vondee Francis Atsu, aged 29 years happened to be a personal bodyguard to Ebony and that her daughter’s management was aware including Abeiku Santana.
In an interview on Joy News, he disclosed that earlier to their departure to Sunyani on the day of the incident, Ebony indicated that she was traveling with her driver Chartey Oko who is currently on admission at Bechem Government Hospital receiving treatment and two others.
Nana Opoku Kwarteng further added that he advised his daughter and wished her well but in what seems to be an image-saving attempt, Abeiku Santana tried denying the driver and soldier until he was exposed.
“She left home on Thursday saying she was going to see her mum. The Mum just returned from the United Kingdom and she said she was going to see her. I asked if she was driving herself because it was late. She told me she was going with her driver, her bodyguard who was a soldier and a friend. It was around 10 Pm”, Nana Opoku Kwarteng revealed.
