A sad incident in Ejura has sparked outrage and led to widespread destruction as angry youths took to the streets to burn the police station, cars the police bungalow and also free detainees from the cells.
According to reports, a young man who was arrested for purchasing a stolen phone tragically died while in police custody.
And the police allegedly moved his body to the mortuary without notifying the family.
Upon learning of the young man’s death, the youths in the community mobilized and stormed the police station.
In an act of retaliation, they set the station and nearby police property on fire and also released all detainees in the cells
