It was an embarrassing moment for a lady who decided to take the bull by the horn by proposing to her boyfriend at the mall.
The incident which happened in the full glare of the public at a popular shopping mall in Anambra Nigeria left a sour taste in the mouth of witnesses.
According to reports, the lady had been in a relationship with the man for three years and decided to propose marriage to him since he was not forthcoming.
It did not go the way she had wished as the man who was supposed to accept her proposal ended up walking out on her. She was rooted to the spot with tears all over her face.
No sooner had the lady gone on her knees to propose to the man than he walked out on her. He muttered in Igbo “some stay for five years” to send a clear message to the lady about his unpreparedness.
Customers and onlookers tried to persuade him to accept the proposal but it fell on deaf ears. It was a scene.
