Event Organizer Reveals That Sarkodie, Shatta Wale Takes GHC 150k For A Show

An event organizer in ‘Oseikrom’ Kumasi known as Kobi has revealed that Ghana’s best rapper, Sarkodie and the self-acclaimed dancehall King, Shatta Wale charges at least  GH ¢ 150,000 to perform on stage.

When quizzed if such claims are true, he responded, “Oh yes, they won’t charge less than that. Recently, I asked I was told if you give Sarkodie GH¢150,000 he would accept that”.

The event organizer ‘Kobi’ continued that, just recently he wanted to feature Sarkodie on his Christmas event dubbed “All White” show, but he was told he had to pay around GH¢ 500,000.

He said this huge amount demanded by the artistes is not helping the industry; he made this known to Kumasi-based Abusua Fm with Austine Wood.

He further cleared the air on rumors that they wouldn’t want to pay huge amounts to watch an artist like the Sarkodie and Shatta Wale but rather saying the real challenge is that venues are not available within the Kumasi metropolis.

There has been a raging controversy in the entertainment industry about events patronage from people in Kumasi.

He, however, said a week ago, people of Kumasi showed a poor patronage at the Kukum  Bagyah casts show held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. One could easily count the number of patrons.
