Former President John Dramani Mahama has paid a visit to one of Ghana’s movie veterans, Grace Nortey, in her home.
Mr Mahama reportedly “drove through the rains” in Accra on the morning of Monday, September 12, 2022, to meet the 85-year-old actress.
This was made known by a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo who shared photos from the former president’s visit on Facebook.
Mr Tamakloe wrote on his page: “The man with the heart of gold: JM drove through the rains this morning to go visit veteran actress Grace Nortey. Kindness is the sunshine in which true love lives. JM is just one of a kind!”
In some of the pictures uploaded to social media, Grace Nortey was spotted in a white dress surrounded by her family. She looked very thin, frail and almost unrecognisable.
In another picture, the actress was seen sharing a laugh with the former president.
The photos also show John Mahama sporting an all-black look as he interacted with the actress who looked excited to see him.
Grace Nortey has played several lead roles on Ghanaian television.
She has been active in the film, theatre and drama industry for over five decades and is considered as one of the ace actresses and pioneers of Ghanaian theatre and drama.
Meanwhile, Grace Nortey is not the only veteran actor former President John Mahama has paid a visit to and/or helped.
