GFA executive A. A. Lawal caught in Anas’ ‘#12 exposé confirmed dead

The Eastern Region Football Association chairman, A.A. Lawal who was also a member of the Ghana Football Association has been confirmed dead.

The football administrator was officially pronounced dead on arrival at the Nsawam Government Hospital on Monday, January 28, 2019.

According to the report sighted by Ghanapage.com on FootballMadeInGhana.com, Alhaji Mamudu, a relative of Lawal confirmed the latter’s death.

The story confirms that the late Lawal fell sick on Thursday, January 24, 2019, and was taken to the hospital but was discharged after some medications.

“Yes, it’s true. He was pronounced dead after we got to the hospital. We took him earlier to a near-by clinic and was referred to the Nsawam Government Hospital.

He fell sick on Thursday but the sickness subsided after some medication. But this morning it got serious and by the time we got to the hospital, he was pronounced dead,” he narrated.

Before the late Lawal’s sudden death, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

A. A. Lawal was one of the top FA officials captured in Anas’ number 12 exposé which saw the deceased taking some money to influence the outcome of a certain football match.
