Five Major Issues Which Took Center Stage In 2017 Sporting World

Last year was filled with several sporting activities across Europe with some that will forever remain in the minds of many.

Let’s take a retrospective look at five of the major issues that took center stages in 2017 as far as the sporting world is concerned.

1.On August 2017, Mix Martial art fighter, Corno “the notorious” Macgregor threw a heavy challenge to arguably the best boxer the world has seen, Floyd Mayweather who was retired then.

Mayweather coming back from retirement was full of energy and strength who eventually knocked Macgregor out on the 9th round in about which many thought Macgregor would prove a point.

Mayweather took home 100million Dollars after the bout whiles Macgregor, also earned 30million Dollars.

2. In 2017, the world witnessed Real Madrid winning the UEAFA champions league back to back after beating Italian side, Juventus 3:1 in Wales

Before that, there was no club in the history of the Champions League who have won the competition on two consecutive occasions, crowning it up with the FIFA Club World Cup title.

3. Brazilian forward, Neymar Da Silva’s transfer from Spanish giant, Barcelona to PSG was one which brought the entire sporting fraternity to a standstill.

Neymar completed a world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona for £200m in a five-year deal making him the most expensive player in the world, a fee no one dreamt of.

4. Though we enjoyed some of the good moments, the sudden death of Ivorian and former Newcastle midfielder, Cheick Tiote saddened the heart of many after he collapsed during a training session with club Beijing Enterprises in China.

Cheick Tiote left behind three children and was expecting a fourth on the week he died.

5.Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo also won both the FIFA best player of the year and the Ballon d’Or Awards for the fifth time going on a level with Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi.
