The early morning rains have rendered many roads in Accra and Kumasi flooded.Some parts of the capital, Accra that has flooded after the heavy downpour on Friday morning are Spintex, Osu Doku and Odawna being the worse hit.
Reports coming in from several parts of the country indicate that most roads have been rendered inaccessible, trapping residents in their homes.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency, however, says it didn’t forecast that parts of the country will experience heavy rains that could cause flooding.
“We didn’t expect the rains to last this long, we forecasted that it will rain this morning but the amount of rain that we’ll get to cause flooding was not forecasted,” Duty Forecaster at the Ghana Meteorological Agency, David Owusu Kesse told Joy FM.
