Research has shown that what we eat affects the skin for better or worse. A poor diet can escalate the ageing process of the skin with time.

Here are six foods to consume in order to look young and healthier.

Drinking alcoholic drinks can take a serious toll on your health. Excessive intake can interfere with the brain’s communication and affects the way it looks and works.

It makes it harder to think clearly and move accordingly and cause problems which includes stroke, high blood pressure and stretching of the heart muscles.

Excessive alcohol intake can damage the liver by building toxins inside the liver and can develop issues like wrinkles and fibrosis.

Red meat such as beef, pork, goat and lamb is a good source of minerals, vitamins and protein but eating a lot can cause bowel cancer, heart diseases and type 2  diabetes.

It is also recommended that people consume 90g or less red meat per day.

It is considered to be any meat which has been modified in other to improve its taste. Processed meat like bacon, sausage, corned beef, canned meat, ham, smoked meat and hot dogs contain preservatives which can trigger inflammation in the skin and escalate the ageing process.

They also contain a large amount of salt. Processed red meat has been linked to heart disease, high blood pressure and cancer.

Energy drinks give you energy but they also affect ageing process and teeth because it contains caffeine which is a stimulant. It also causes type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, late miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

It also includes poor dental health, convulsions and obesity.

It is also advisable to sip energy drinks with straw to limit the contact with the teeth.
