‘Forget About Unseating Nana Akufo-Addo In 2020’ – Former Prez. J.J Rawlings Tells NDC

Former President and Founder of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Jerry John Rawlings has said it emphatically that it is impossible for his party NDC to unseat the ruling New Patriotic Party in the next presidential election in 2020.

According to the former president’s statement, the current President who is Nana Akufo-Addo would rule beyond his current four-year mandate and go for the full eight years.

Former Prez. Rawlings made these statement when he was visited by the CEO of the EIB network, Bola Ray, to invite him to his upcoming biography launch ‘It Is Possible, The Bola Ray Story’.

The ‘Papa Carpenter’ Man who has since been a rival to his own party after leaving office in 2001, released this statement as an answer to a question ‘if he thinks the NDC would be back in power in the next Presidential election in the negative’.

“These [NDC] people think they can unseat this man [Akufo-Addo] in 2020… After only four years? No!” he roared.

Marking the ruling party’s performance so far, Rawlings said the NPP government have ruled quite well, and if they made it a train performance, the NDC should completely forget about unseating Nana Addo in 2020.
