Former Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, has been appointed Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).

Her appointment began on January 5, 2022.

COP Addo-Danquah succeeds Steve Raymond Dapaa-Addo as Director-General of EOCO on July 9, 2021.

She was the Director-General of the Police Professional and Standards Bureau most recently.

COP Addo-Danquah joined the Ghana Police Service in 1990 and was the first woman Commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC) in Winneba.

She has also worked as an administrator at the Police Hospital and as the head of the CID’s Commercial Crime Unit.

COP Addo-Danquah rose to prominence during the case involving the kidnapping of three Takoradi girls, who were later discovered dead.

She was heavily chastised for her handling of the case, and she faced numerous calls for her resignation while being accused of botching the investigation.
