Former Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton is in Ghana, Joy Sports understands, to interview for the vacant Black Stars coaching position.

The Irish coach is one of several coaches mentioned as possible candidates to replace Milovan Rajevac, who was fired on Wednesday, January 26.

Hughton, 63, is of Ghanaian descent through his father and is expected to meet with the Ghana Football Association’s executive council during his visit.

According to Joy Sports, a high-ranking government official is pushing for the appointment of the former Norwich City manager as the next head coach of the senior national team.

Meanwhile, the GFA’s executive council has another candidate for the job.

Otto Addo, assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund, George Boateng, youth coach at Aston Villa, and former Cameroon assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko are among the coaches being considered for the vacant position.
