Former President JJ Rawlings Outraged Over The Senseless Killing Of Captain Mahama – He Had This To Say

Flight Lieutenant Jeremiah John Rawlings, the Former President of Ghana has expressed outrage over the senseless murder of Captain Maxwell Adams Mahama by irate residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in Central Region of Ghana.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the former President of Ghana, President JJ Rawlings described the lynching and burning of the late Captain as cruel and called for an investigation into the crime.

He further suggested that the death could have been avoided if people had confidence in the institutions of state that are responsible for enforcing law and order and dispensing justice.

President Rawlings who was a military man himself has described the soldier’s death as a great loss to Ghana.

In a typical Boom speech from President JJ Rawlings, He rebuked the security agencies for what he said was their inability to swiftly and competently respond when crimes are committed.

Just like Former President Mahama and Current President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, President JJ Rawlings went on to console the family of late Captain Mahama for their tragic loss.

Captain Mahama who was stationed at Denkyira-Obuasi was has been murdered in a gruesome way by the residence of the town.

According to reports, the late Captian went jogging early Monday morning in the town. He was not wearing a uniform but had his gun on him. The Assemblyman of the area mistook him for an armed robber and mobilize the youth of the town to stone him and later burnt him to death.

His death has caused an uproar in Ghana with most people calling for the heads of the perpetrators. Soldiers have since been deployed to the town to search for the perpetrators.
