Gay family system allegedly introduced in new SHS Social Studies syllabus

Ghanaian social media users are outraged over a photo from the new social media studies which has been introduced in Senior High School.

Same-sex family system is being discussed in the new SHS social studies syllabus which has been enrolled.

The textbook, written by Emmanuel Asare Donkor comes as the second edition of the Golden Social Studies for Senior High Schools.

Page 169 of the book outlines five new types of family systems, in addition to the traditional nuclear and extended family systems which was previously taught in the existing syllabus, with one of the five being the same-sex family system.

This has sparked outrage among Ghanaians considering the fact that Ghanaians joined forces to fight Ghana Education Service’s planned decision to introduce Comprehensive Sexuality education in lower primary schools.
