Menzgold PRO defends security officers’ attack on pregnant TV3 reporter

The PRO for embattled gold deposit company, Menzgold has reacted to the reports which went viral yesterday that the securities at the East Legon head office of Menzgold assaulted journalist at the premises including a pregnant reporter from TV3.

In a conversation with Kessben FM in Kumasi, George Quaye stated that it appears the journalist went there and intentionally provoked the securities just to put Menzgold in a bad light.

The PRO stated that the Menzgold security gave the journalist a clear directive but the journalist intentionally disregarded the directive and chose to do what will provoke the security to react.

However, George stated that management will question and reprimand the security personnel at Menzgold because they could have handled the situation better.

News broke yesterday evening that journalists who went to Menzgold office after the SEC order of shutdown went viral were assaulted by the Menzgold security.

Among the journalists assaulted were Kareen Dodoo from Multimedia and pregnant TV3 reporter, Nana Akua Mensah-Aborampah.

An audio of Nana Akua struggle with the officers to protect her self and her unborn child has since sparked outrage on social media.
