Anas GFA Exposé is opening up more can of worms than most Ghanaians ever thought will happen. Aside from the fact that Ghanaians have come face to face with how the game of football is riddled with corruption, former Black Star players are opening up how they nearly fell culprit to this practices.
Investigative ace journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has premiered his latest corruption exposé video which centered around corruption in the Ghana Football Association.
Over 16 Ghanaian referees have been captured on camera receiving bribes to rig matches. Other GFA Executive members have been videoed taking various sums of money to influence decision including the president of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Well, at the peak of all these discussions, a video has surfaced online of the former Goal Keeper of the Ghana Blacks, Richard Kingston confessing how he was offered 300,000 US Dollars bribe to ensure Ghana loses against the Czech Republic during the Germany World Cup in 2006.
According to Richard Kingston, Ghana had already lost one game and was waiting to play against the Czech Republic when a Ghanaian led him to meet some people who offered him $300,000 if he could allow Ghana lose against the Czech.
He explained that it was his wife who advised him to forget them and concentrate on the game because honor is more important than wealth. He made the confession at the church of TB Joshua in Nigeria in some sort of a testimony.
“In 2006 World Cup in Germany, we were about to play against the Czech Republic. Then they were the second best in the world and we had lost a game already. A Ghanaian led me to some people to take a bribe,” Richard Kingston shockingly revealed.
