Ghana Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan Honored With A Doctorate Degree

Turkish club Kayserispor new signee and the skipper for the Ghana’s senior national team football Asamoah Gyan has been honored by Ukraine’s leading university Alfred Noble University with an honorary doctorate degree.

The event was held at the Faculty of Law of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Saturday, July 08, 2017.

The honorary doctorate degree is for his achievements on the football field and his philanthropical works.

Asamoah Gyan after receiving his award told the media;

“It’s good somebody is out there recognizing what I’m doing. I feel honored [by this gesture]. Before, I thought I was just doing it for God, but human beings on this earth have also recognized it,” Gyan said.

“I feel honored,”

Gyan is Ghana’s leading goal scorer with 51 goals since joining the national team and Africa’s leading scorer at the Fifa World Cup.

Gyan became a household name after he played an integral role in qualifying the black stars to the FIFA World Cup tournaments since 2006.

Asamoah Gyan had played in the English Premier League with Sunderland before signing big-money deals at Al Ain in UAE and also moving to China.

He just signed for the Turkish club, Kayserispor.
