The Bonsa Headworks, a body that produces portable water in Ghana has been reportedly shut down, Gh Page can proclaim.
The news was made known in a communique shared by the body that Gh Page has sighted.
The body claims at this juncture, they have no option, but to ensure a shutdown.
They noted in the communique that, they are shutting down because of Galamsey, which they are finding extremely difficult to stop.
According to them, “We are sorry to announce that Bonsa Headworks that produced 75 % of portable water to Tarkwa Township and some environ have been shut down due to massive Galamsey”.
They claim the massive Galamsey makes it difficult for them to abstract the water for treatment.
The communique concludes that “the river is still being monitored for acceptable parameters to enable us to restart production, and until then, the plant remains closed”.
