On Sunday 12th March 2020, Easter Sunday, some residents of Chorkor, a suburb of Accra shocked the whole nation when the defied lockdown directives from the president of Ghana and went partying at the Chorkor beach in their numbers.
They were over a hundred in their numbers and they paid no attention to social distancing directives in the wake of the Coronavirus as they chilled hard.

Videos of this incident surfaced on social media and have since thrown Ghanaians into a state of shock.

Well, Ghana Police Service has reacted to the blatant disregard for safety by Chorkor residents amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Ghana Police gathering at the beach is part of the Restrictions Act,2020 (Act 1012) and consequential Order. As such, any disregard for the law is an offense.
The police have ordered all beach activities from civilians at this time of the lockdown is prohibited and anyone who breaks the rule will be prosecuted.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian Netizens are calling on the government to put the military to full use and allow them to use the necessary force in getting people to obey the lockdown directives.
