Ghanaian songstress Irene Logan has waded into the controversy surrounding how artiste managers in the country take care of their artistes.
Over some period of time now, many people are of the view that these artiste managers know nothing when it comes to managing an artiste but they are just happy with the title as artiste managers.
Some others are of the view that instead of calling them artiste managers, they should rather be known as artiste errand boys since that description fits them more.
Well, Irene Logan has also stated that the current crops of artiste managers are just managers because they are into the creative arts industry or just want to make money from the artistes.
According to her, these so-called artiste managers don’t really understand the real deal of showbiz.
“In Ghana, the industry is still developing and sometimes we deceive ourselves to think that we are at a certain level… I am trying to sound as nice as possible because I am not trying to bring anybody down or sound controversial but I don’t think we have any managers, I don’t think we have any record labels in Ghana. I think we have people who have the passion for the arts or people who want to make some money and then they find someone who is desperate to be famous and have some talent and say come let’s go, let’s do this,” she said.
