Award-Winning Ghanaian model, Edem Fairre who is currently embarking on a nationwide tour with her Edem Fairre Foundation educating people about depression and anxiety has disclosed her challenges being a model in Ghana among other issues.
Edem, who was recently sworn in as a UN Youth Ambassador for her works shared a very touching story where she revealed for the first time how she almost got raped by some pastors, family members, robbery issues and more difficult times she faced growing up which at some point made her so depressed that she almost took her own life.
Speaking in an interview, the celebrated model said thatโ I tried to kill myself. I was robbed and almost killed, I sold on the streets. I felt like I was a burden to so many people. I felt so worthless.โ
โIโve had some attempted rape cases with pastors, the more reason I was refusing to go to churchโ, she added.
She called on to the police, doctors, counselors, therapists to come on board and help the project.
