Ghanaians on social media are calling on the Ghana Police Service to swiftly arrest a trotro mate captured in a viral video charging passengers GHS 30 for a journey from Accra to Kasoa; A fare that is officially pegged at GHS 10 by the GPRTU.
The video which has sparked outrage across the various social media platforms shows the mate confidently demanding the inflated fare and leaving stunned passengers visibly frustrated.
Commuters who could not afford the GHS 30 were left stranded as the bus prepared to move.

Social media users have described the act as “daylight robbery,” insisting that authorities must take decisive action to curb what has now become a growing menace on major transport routes.
According to several commuters reacting under the viral post, overcharging has increasingly become a trend during peak hours, especially early mornings and late evenings when passengers are desperate to get to work or return home.
