In a recent report by GhPage.com on the 10th of February 2018, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Catherine Abelema Afeku hinted that the late musician will receive a befitting burial because she touched lives in Ghana and across with her hit songs.
Speaking in an interview with Joy FM, the Minister said the government will consult with the family of the Ebony Reigns in order to give her a befitting burial.

But the minister speaking in an interview with Joy FM today dismissed the report that the Government intends to give the late Ebony a state burial.
“That’s a misconception. It is a private family issue. We told the family that on behalf of the ministry, we will help give her a befitting burial and that’s exactly what we are doing.” she said.
The minister’s statement put an end to the rumours that the late Ebony, born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, would be accorded a state burial.

According to the minister, Catherine Abelema Afeku, though the death of the young and talented musician has really brought sorrow to all, the government would rather support the family to ensure that the late dancehall diva gets a befitting burial.
The state would not, however, assume responsibility for the final funeral rites scheduled for Saturday, March 17, 2018, in Accra.
