The Government of Ghana has reiterated his decision to not refund the aggrieved Menzgold customers with taxpayers money.
In a statement signed by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the Minister for Information advised the customers to seek redress in court.
The Minister stated in the statement that customers disregarded several warnings by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Bank of Ghana since April 2016 not to invest in Menzgold because they didn’t have the required license to operate.
According to the statement, Government sympathises with the aggrieved customers but cannot do anything to help the situation.
It also stated that Government will ensure that the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah will face the full rigours of the law when apprehended.
