Broadcast journalist and host of “With All Due Respect” Kevin Taylor has once again come against the ruling government accusing them of harboring plans to shut down social media ahead of the elections next year.

According to Kevin Taylor, the government led by the boss of the National Communication Authority(NCA) Mr Joesph Anokye is planning to shut down all social media networks so the citizens and people outside can’t follow the elections.

Explaining how they plan to carry out their plans, he disclosed that the NCA boss with the help of some people including two Lebanese are planning to take control of the bandwidth manager which serves as the traffic to all data connections in the country.

And once they have access to that, they are going to gradually block the free flow of data connection by first closing four out of the seven data lanes. This means everyone trying to access the internet would using only three lines which would eventually make the internet connections in the country run slow.

He made mention of the fact that Facebook is their main target and once the are able to carry out their operations, Ghanaians before, during and after the elections can’t access the social media sites.

Kevin Taylor also made mention that the plan by the new EC boss Jean Mensah to rework on the IT section of the Electoral Commission is just a plan to get the two Lebanese hooked unto the servers to be able to manipulate the upcoming elections.
