Great Ampong, has apologized unconditionally to President John Dramani Mahama for disparaging him in a song he wrote for the National Democratic Party before the 2024 Elections.
Great Ampong, a staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), wrote a song for the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, and his running mate for the elections.
The song’s lyrics praised the NPP and urged its supporters to cast ballots for them in the upcoming elections.
Even in a few interviews, Ampong made it clear that he loved the NPP and wrote the song on his initiative.
This came after he was charged with using a sizable sum of money that Dr Bawumia had given him to write the song and run his campaign.
He refuted the accusations, maintaining that the NPP has accomplished more for Ghana than the NDC.
During a recent interview, Ampong chose to apologize to John Dramani Mahama in order to avoid getting into his bad graces.
He clarified that he was misquoted and misinterpreted.
