A prominent Guatemalan businessman and former mayoral candidate, Elías Ramírez, was brutally assassinated in a hail of bullets outside his company’s premises in El Tejar, Parramos.
As seen in the video, the attackers who were armed with AK-47s, AR-15s, and AR-10 rifles—opened fire on Ramírez in a coordinated ambush.

They fired over 100 bullets at him in a matter of minutes.
The gunmen, who had disguised themselves as construction workers, were waiting for Ramírez at the entrance to his company when the attack occurred.
A woman accompanying Ramírez was also unalived while the businessman himself sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died shortly after.
The sheer scale of the assault has shocked residents and drawn national attention to Guatemala’s ongoing issues with politically linked violence and contract-related disputes.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the assassination may have been motivated by fierce competition over lucrative construction contracts, an industry in which Ramírez was said to wield significant influence.
