Highlife veteran Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has appealed with Bhim Nation boss Stonebwoy to stop doing dancehall music and rather start promoting songs been churned out from the Volta Region.

According to Gyedu-Blay, Stonebwoy has lost his identity and needs to find his true identity as well as promote his Voltarian culture to the world.

Giving an example he mentioned Jamaican artiste Sean Paul spoke Patois in Stonebwoy’s “Most Original” song to promote his country but Stonebwoy, on the other hand, failed to speak any of the local dialects on the same song to promote the country.

Digressing from the issue, he also blasted the current crop of artistes in the system especially hiplife youngsters saying they have lost track, sing meaningless songs with no content.

Even though Kuami Eugene’s song “Angela” became a nationwide hit, Gyedu-Blay is of the view that the song is wack which does not carry any message or shows any identity with regards to our culture.

He went on and hammered on the fact that he is the originator of rap music in the entire world contrary to the Guinness book of records’ attribution to the Sugar Hill Gang.
