Hammer Explains Why He Diverted From Full-Time Music To Sell Bread

Legendary Ghanaian music producer Hammer currently works with A1 bread company, headed by Godfred Obeng Boateng, who shot to fame a couple years ago after John Dumelo bashed him on social media

Explaining why he ventured into the business of selling bread, he stated that is a way of inspiring the youth to be business-minded.

Hammer, in response to Tinny’s wish that he (Hammer) should not quit making music, he said,

“I have been doing this bread business for close to a year now. I am doing this with the same vision I had for music – to empower the youth.”

He explained that, he has in the past year, provided employment for a number of youth in Accra.

Also, he says though he quit making commercial beats, he has not completely stopped recording.

“I have been recording for some of the big artistes but not commercially. I just recorded a song for Obrafour, Edem and Teephlow and I will soon be recording for Sarkodie,” he added.

Hammer blamed his decision to divert from music on the misbehaviour of some artists.

Some Ghanaian artistes do not like taking directions and this attitude affects my job; since grooming is a major part of producing¨, he said.

Hammer is known for discovering some of the biggest stars like Sarkodie, Kwaw Kesse, Tinny, Edem etc. His groundbreaking beats was always a delight to listen to.

The legendary music producer Hammer of the Last Two Music Group revealed in an interview that his switch to selling A1 Bread has really brought more money on the table than he’s ever made showbiz.
