Talented rappers all over the world are making some good money. All other things being equal, the more famous they get, the more richer they become.All of the rappers on this list are famous worldwide for the records they have produced and released. They have countless nominations and awards to their names.

Despite the riches they earn through their music career, its fact that these rappers made significant proportion of their wealth through businesses they are into besides the music business.

5. Bryan “Birdman” Williams – Net Worth: $150 Million

In 2014 Birdman was the fourth richest with $160 million, this year he is down to 5th. Birdman rose to fame as part of the rap duo Big Tymers and also co-founded Cash Money Records with his brother;

the record label is estimated to be worth around $300 million. The label has expanded in recent years with an expansion into clothing and refreshments.

Outside of music Williams had a short flirtation with the oil industry through his company, Bronald Oil and Gas.

4. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson – Net Worth: $155 Million

Much of Jackson’s net worth is due to his sale of Vitamin Water in 2007 which earned him a cool $100 million. The rapper owns his own record label too, G-Unit Records, which has a number of artists on its roster.

Jackson hasn’t released an album since 2009 with his business assets dominating his priorities.

His hiatus is due to end this year however with new album Animal Ambition pencilled in for a June release and the long-awaited Street King Immortal expected to drop too before the end of the year.

3. Shawn “Jay Z” Carter – Net Worth: $550 Million

Jay-Z had originally retired in 2003 from recording his own music, although this lasted only three years. Not content with being one of the most influential rappers ever Carter has a fine eye for business.

He sold clothing line Rocawear for $204 million in 2007 and signed a $150 million collaboration with Live Nation in 2008 through his Roc Nation entertainment company.

Furthermore he is a fully-qualified sports agent under the sports branch of Roc Nation (Roc Nation Sports). He is minority owner of NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.

2.) Andre “Dr. Dre” Young – Net Worth: $700 Million

Dr. Dre owes much of his wealth to the enormously successful Beats by Dr. Dre headphones which currently account for 65% of the premium headphone market.

Following on from the success of the headphones Beats Electronic has launched an online-streaming service called Beats Music to rival Spotify’s
domination of the market.

He is now worth $780 million after Apple acquired Beats headphone for $3 billion, a company he co-founded. According to Forbes’ 2014 Hip-Hop Cash Kings, Dr. Dre earned $620 million.
