Ghana has surprisingly been held to a 1-1 draw in Kumasi, but the Stars travelled to Congo Brazzaville and trashed the Congolese with a 1-5 comfortable win.

A rejuvenated Ghana side managed to beat Congo at their own backyard in the reverse fixture of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Brazzaville.

Thomas Partey’s hat-trick and a brace from Richmond Boakye Yiadom gave the Black Stars a comfortable 1-5 victory.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom started the scoring for the Black Stars in the 23rd minute when he tapped in the goal from a goal mouth melee to set the tone for Ghana.

Christian Atsu took on a player along the left flank and created space before he put through Thomas Partey who slotted it home to double the lead for Ghana in the 26th minute to double Ghana’s lead.

However, Congolese Lloyd reduced the deficit when he rose high to nod home from the corner kick in the 42 minute.

Partey restored the two-goal advantage for the Black Stars, after he scored perfectly from another ball from Atsu on the stroke of half time, ending the first half at 1-3 in favour of Ghana.

In the 69 minute, Thomas Partey intercepted a pass in the Congolese goal area and send a volley past the goalkeeper to make it 4-1 and recorded his maiden Black Stars hat-trick.

Afful, in the 85 minute dribbled his marker and gave a through ball to Boakye Yiadom who controlled it and afterwards displaced the goalkeeper.
