A tragic incident has shaken the community of Akyem Nyafoman in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region, as a 55-year-old hunter, Kwame Avorgah, has shot and killed his 47-year-old partner, Yaa Comfort, while she was taking a bath.
According to local reports, the fatal shooting may have been fueled by a misunderstanding between the couple that led to their separation three weeks prior.

After the act, Avorgah reportedly attempted to take his own life by shooting himself to death also but failed and sustained serious injuries in the process.

Residents, upon hearing the gunshots, rushed to the scene and managed to apprehend him before handing him over to the police.
The suspect was later transported to the Abirem Government Hospital for medical treatment as authorities commenced further investigations into the shocking incident.
