They say Love is blind but Afia Schwar never believed till things turned sour in her recent marriage with Mr Lawrence Abrokwah.

Comedienne, TV and Radio presenter Afia Schwarzenegger on her birthday and at the launch of her Non-Governmental Organisation Leave2Live Foundation, on February 14 made fresh allegations against ex-husband Mr Lawrence Abrokwa.

The outspoken media personality, during the launch of her foundation aimed at fighting against domestic violence, shared the torment she went through in her six-month marriage to Lawrence Abrokwa.

Afia in her speech at the launch made a revelation of how she suffered physical, emotional, financial abuse.

She further disclosed that she used to have the hope that things would get better after her husband finds himself a job since his unemployment might be the cause of the several waves of abuse she suffered. She stated without mincing words that “I loved my abuser”.

The controversial radio and TV presenter cum comedienne who turned 35 on Val’s Day also revealed that she paid the sex workers her ex-husband slept with in their matrimonial home.

She further added that she received severe beatings anytime she made a complaint concerning her former husband’s sexual encounter with prostitutes in her house.

She further noted how pastors and other respected personalities in the society talked her out to stay in the abusive marriage anytime she decided to walk away.
