This is why I switched from rapping to singing – Kofi Kinaata confesses

Known in private life as Martin Kofi King Arthur but coined the last two names to be popularly called Kinaata as his stage name.

And for sometime now, Highgrade Family act has stopped his hardcore rapping and switched to singing. In fact, Kofi Kinaata has been able to warm his way into the hearts of Ghanaians when he started singing as a lot of people are now loving his singing as compared to his rap dexterity.

Upon all the songs he has done, his breakthrough has been through his highlife songs ,Susuka, Sweetie Pie, Time no dey, and even the song of the moment, confession are all songs that the composition are primarily singing.

Responding to why he has switched from his hard core to singing now on Kasapa Fm, the susuka hit-maker stated,

“Well, I’m just exploring other areas. It’s just like footballer trying to play in at least 2 positions, so i also want to be good at least in all the areas as far as music is concerned. The talent is there, and it’s not that I’ve quit rap, no, I still rap but I felt like exploring other areas.”

Music lovers have tipped him as a Castro successor, responding to that he said,

“I cannot fill Castro’s spot, never. I’m just doing my part but filling Castro spot? Eih”.
