I will insist on quality and value for money – H.E Akufo-Addo
Nana Akufo-Addo becomes Ghana’s 5th president under the Fourth Republic after a stunning victory over incumbent President John Dramani Mahama.
His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa says his government needed to control on its spending and take seriously the idea of getting value for money.
The President served a strong notice that his administration would always demand quality and not entertain mediocrity, as he spelt out his administration’s policies and programmes in his inaugural speech.
The president once again sent a warning to people he would appoint in his administration that if they came in with the aim to make money at the expense of the state, then they should rather resort to the private sector where real money was made.
He said the NPP, in view of its outlined programmes and policies, had an ambitious plan, adding that those plans were ambitious but deliverable.
Clad in his rich kente cloth, Akufo-Addo took the oath administered by Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Woode at a ceremony graced by several West African Presidents, including Mahamudu Buhari of Nigeria, Faure Gnassingbé of Togo and Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leonean, among other foreign guests.
