I will pay every NDC delegate in Gomoa West monthly if I become MP – Captain Smart

Broadcast journalist and political activist Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has stirred reactions after promising to provide financial support to every National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegate if he is elected as the Member of Parliament for the Gomoa West Constituency.

The outspoken media personality, who is seeking to become the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Gomoa West, pledged in a video that has since gone viral on social media.

In the footage, Captain Smart assured party delegates that he would honour his promise if they gave him the mandate to represent the constituency in Parliament. His remarks have generated widespread discussion, with many Ghanaians sharing mixed opinions on the pledge.

The latest promise comes just days after Captain Smart outlined his vision for the constituency during an appearance on Onua TV, where he pledged to embark on massive infrastructure development if elected.

Speaking about his plans, he declared that transforming Gomoa West would be his top priority, promising to undertake extensive development projects across the constituency.

“I will turn the constituency into a construction site,” he said, emphasising his commitment to improving roads, public infrastructure and other key sectors if allowed to serve as MP.

Although much of his address was delivered in local languages while interacting with supporters, Captain Smart repeatedly assured residents that they would witness significant development under his leadership.
