I won’t go to Togo as I promised before the elections – Maurice Ampaw

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw a sympathizer of the opposition party the NPP has made a U-turn about his comment in the build-up to the 2024 General elections.

In the build-up to the elections, Maurice Ampaw on one of his TV shows stated that John Dramani Mahama and the NDC can never come to power.

He continued by saying that he would relocate from Ghana to Togo should the NDC led by John Mahama win the 2024 elections.

Well, now the elections are done and dusted and John Mahama emerged as the winner and has already been sworn in as President but Lawyer Maurice Ampaw is still in Ghana going about his duties.

In his new interview on GTV, he was asked as to when he will be leaving Ghana for Togo as he promised before the elections.

In his response, he stated that the comments were mere political talks and that there was nothing better in Togo for him to move there.

He said: “I won’t go to Togo. Ghana is far better than Togo. I don’t even have a passport, I’ve never travelled before.”
