Ghanaian millionaire businessman, Ibrahim Mahama has “signed and sealed” a dealership agreement with French multinational automobile manufacturer, Renault to acquire Trucks for his business in Ghana.
The 50-year-old CEO of Dzata Cement Company shared news of the freshly penned deal with Renault Trucks with his followers earlier this week on social media.
Ibrahim Mahama visited the headquarters of Renault Trucks to finalise discussions on securing the vehicles to expand operations of his Cement business across Ghana and beyond.
Sharing photos from the deal signing he wrote: “Renault Trucks Dealership signed and Sealed for Ghana”
Ibrahim Mahama is the brother of Ghana’s former president John Dramani Mahama.
His Dzata Cement brand is touted as the first fully-owned Ghanaian cement processing factory. The over US$100 million investment is located on a 10-acre land near the Tema Port.
Dzata means lion in Twi, a Ghanaian language that suggests the company’s brand and product quality.Â
The Dzata Cement plant can produce an average of 120 bags per minute from the two production lines.
Ghana currently has eleven cement plants for production in the industry. The entry of Dzata cement into the industry makes it the 12th plant and second bagging plant.
It is expected that the price of Dzata cement will be relatively lower than that of its competitors.
The country currently has four major cement companies. These are Ghacem, Dangote, CIMAF and Diamond cement brands.
