The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) was founded by Ghanaian theologian, Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil.The church was officially inaugurated on 26 February 1984, in Accra, Ghana.It was the second Charismatic church in Ghana after the Action Chapel International founded in 1979.The church has its headquarters in Accra.
Over the years, ICGC is regarded as one of the most literate churches in Ghana and has been able to live without reproach due to the excellent leadership of her leader, Pastor Mensah Otabil.
For a while, now pastors and churches in Ghana have been receiving heavy criticism from Ghanaians for “using” clever ways to extort money from their congregation.
Leading the attack is Kwame A-Plus, a musician cum politician in Ghana. Many are those who have sided with him. But he has received heavy opposition from the “more” religious people on social media.
In all these brouhahas from people who are against these “extortion” and those who see nothing wrong with it, ICGC was left out and is regarded as a more morality right church that is fair to her members, not anymore.
Prizes for a special offering of the ICGC has been leaked online and social media is going frenzy. People are outraged and expressing their disappointment with the church for charging such an outrageous prizes for prayers in a church that is perceived to be more literate with high-class personalities as members.
