Ghanaian preacher Francis Antwi, widely known as Reverend Obofour has succumbed to an earlier caution by the Ghana Police Service on doom prophecies made by prophets at the end of the year.
The police had communicated that a prophet or religious organization could be prosecuted if a prophecy made by an individual was not properly substantiated.
According to the police statement, any prophecy that creates fear and alarm will eventually result in the arrest of the prophet or the leader of the religious organization.
Therefore, it had cautioned ahead of time that prophetic declarations at the end of the year are made with decorum and proper circumspection.
On that back of that, the Founder and Leader of Anointed Chapel International, Reverend Obofour has said he would tread cautiously and ensure that he never makes public a prophecy about the death of someone.
According to him, he would invite the person privately and relay the information in order to protect public peace and sanity.
“I have to invite you if I know you’re going to die.” However, there are some people who require anointing in order to carry messages. As a man of God, you are both a messenger and a post officer. “Whatever someone has given you, that’s what you’re going to send out there,” he said in an interview with TV3.
