Ghanaian entertainment and lifestyle blogger, Ameyaw Debrah has schooled US rapper Chance The Rapper on the acceptable way of life in Ghana.
According to him, Chance The Rapper should understand that it was unacceptable for him to meet the president and exchange pleasantries while in a cap.
In a social media post, Ameyaw Debrah admonished him to accept that it was not an acceptable norm in Ghana for him to greet an elderly person while his cap on his head.
This comes on the back of President Akufo-Addo’s meeting with Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper where the questionable photo emerged from.
Dear @chancetherapper next time please don’t wear a cap when you meet an elderly person in Ghana. Culturally we say it’s not cool!
On the flip side, taking off one’s cap before greeting an elderly person is not a norm in The US where the rapper lives which is the obvious reason why Chance The Rapper did not take his off when he met the president.
Meanwhile, wearing a cap to greet the elderly is not acceptable as far as the general Ghanaian culture is concerned thus Ameyaw Debrah has used the opportunity to school Chance The Rapper on best practices in Ghana.
