Ghpage.com presents you with 3 questions directed to President Nana Addo at 2018 meet the press encounter that has been labeled as irrelevant. It appears those journalists were there just to add to the numbers.

Question on whether the 2012 election petition is a hallmark of the 4th Republic

Ghana is bedeviled with high unemployment, high utility cost, poor sanitation, corruption, poor road network, etc etc. and a journalist had the chance to quiz the president on pressing matters such as these, he chose to talk about 2012 election petition in an irrelevant manner.

When the journalist was given the opportunity to ask his pressing and challenging questions, he started nicely only to ask, “whether the live coverage and outcome of the 2012 election petition ruling” is a major hallmark of Ghana’s 25 years in the Fourth Republic.”

2012 election petition is the very first of its kind in the history of Ghana so yes it is a major hallmark and even a kid knows that!. And it is definitely not a pressing issue that a journalist has to rehearse for 6 months before asking the president at such a pressing moment. It’s definitely the most irrelevant question at the Meet the press encounter 2018.

Homosexual conspiracy question

When the lady from Pan African Television stood up to ask the president a question, hardly did many imagine she will ask the president if he is involved in conspiracy theory to push gayy agenda in Ghana.

The lady asked the president if his interview with Aljazeera where he spoke about homosexuality was deliberate attempt to give voice to the gayy community in Ghana. Like seriously? At this pressing moment in the history of Ghana, this is the question Pan African Television sent their representative to come and ask?

Irrespective of the fact that homosexuality is an emotional issue in Ghana, it is definitely none of the priorities Ghana desperately needs now in this fast developing world. It has been labeled as one of the major irrelevant questions asked at the meet the press encounter.

Question on why other Heads of State came to Ghana last year

The “Meet the press encounter with the president” had a limited time space. Yet, when one of the very few journalists who had the opportunity to ask the president a question stood up, he asked “what accounted for other Heads of State trooping to Ghana”

Who doesn’t know Heads of other States visit other Heads of States? Its been so for centuries and will continue to be so after Nana Addo leaves power. And a journalist who was there to represent the citizen and ask tough and pressing questions chose to ask this flimsy question? Has he forgotten about bilateral ties or he doesn’t?

No wonder frustration could be seen on the faces of the other journalist when he was asking that irrelevant question.

Besides the question on 2012 election petition being a major hallmark, this is probably the most irrelevant question asked the president at Meet the press encounter 2018.
