It is an insult to make a Northerner a DCE in Ashanti Region- John Boadu

NPP national chairman hopeful, John Boadu believes it makes no sense for a Northerner to become a DCE in the Ashanti Region.

The politicianโ€™s comment was made while he was speaking with Kwame Tanko on โ€œGhana Se Senโ€ on Lawson TV.

John Boadu noted that, anytime the NPP is out of power, people that bear Ashanti names suffer a lot, because, the NDC gives power to the Northerners.

โ€œWhether you like it or yes, we will say it. If we are not in power and you bear an Ashanti name, you suffer a lotโ€, he shared.

He went on to state that in Assin Central, Northerners are DCE and Member of Parliament, stating that an Ashanti cannot be given a juicy appointment in Tamale.

โ€œIn my town, Assin Central, both the DCE and MP are Northerners. But you cannot make an Ashanti a DCE or an MPโ€, he stressed.

He stated however that, in the Ashanti Region, almost all the DCEs are Northerners, which he believes is an insult to the people of Ashanti.

โ€œWhy are all the DCEs in the Ashanti Region Northerners? It is an insult to the people of the Ashahti because Nana Addo Dankwa would not dare put such names in the Northern Regionโ€, he said.
