A piece of trending information on social media which is yet to be authenticated has alleged that the prime suspect in the tragic death of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) student, Joana, has been arrested and is currently in police custody.
The suspect, identified as Joana’s boyfriend and a fellow KNUST student, is being held at the Research Hills police station, KNUST, where he is assisting with investigations.
According to reports, Joana and the suspect were involved in an aggressive confrontation, during which she allegedly hit him.
In the course of a retaliation, the unfortunate incident happened when she fell to the ground and went unconscious.
Sensing danger, the suspect is said to have moved her body to the location where she was later discovered.
Investigations are still ongoing, and authorities, including the school’s leadership and the Student Representative Council (SRC), have assured the public of a thorough inquiry to ensure justice is served.
