Ghana is mourning the tragic passing of Yabane Deladem Aku, a 21-year-old Level 400 Biological Science student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
As confirmed by the tertiary institution, the deceased was discovered unresponsive behind the Central Laboratory on campus in the early hours of February 27, 2025.
However, despite medical personnel from KNUST Hospital arriving at the scene, to receive her, she was already dead.

The case was later reported to the police who also found signs of violence on her remains.
Following a detailed crime scene investigation, authorities arrested Daniel Tuffour, who is now in custody assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Amidst the ongoing investigations, some students on social media have alleged that Daniel Tuffour murdered Joana at 5:00 am and later went to class at 10:00 am to write an exam.
