With barely 48 hours left for the renounced investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas to premiere his latest video aimed at exposing and shaming corrupt activities in Ghana, former president John Dramani Mahama has watched excerpts of the video and he has expressed disgust with some of the corrupt activities he saw in the video.
Anas’ latest exposé titled Number 12 is centered on corrupt activities in the sports fraternity that have negatively affected the progress of sporting activities in the country. The video also has some elements of corrupt political activities.
The president of Ghana, Nana Dankwah Akufo Addo after watching excerpts of the video filed a report with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) complaining that Kwesi Nyantakyi, the GFA president was captured in the video using his name to extort money from potential investors. Kwesi Nyantakyi has since been granted bail pending investigation.
Well, Ex-President John Dramani Mahama has also spoken after watching excerpts of the video. In a short video shared on the social media handles of the investigative journalist, Mr. Mahama who looks shattered from watching the video blame the massive corruption at the GFA as the caused of Ghana’s dwindling fortunes in the sporting world.
He explained that Ghana football used to be one of the best on the continent but for years now it keeps falling from standard and this corruption could likely be the reason for the sad situation.
“For many years we have been wondering why the quality of our game keeps going down…Ghana was one of the greatest teams on the continent and internationally. This doesn’t look good, it’s sad,” he lamented.
