The former Deputy Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Joseph Yammin has added his voice to the ongoing debate about political vigilantes in the country. Speaking on Kumasi based Pure FM, Mr. Yammin stated that the Hawks are recognized taskforce in the opposition NDC and they will never be disbanded.

According to Mr. Yammin, all the members of the vigilante group are card bearing members who have a security responsibility towards the party and because of that, they will never be disbanded today, tomorrow or forever as called for by the president.
“The Hawks is recognized taskforce in the NDC party. They perform the roles like members of the party and providing security for the party”, he touted.

Reacting to reports that he is the leader of the vigilante group and he is equally the financier of the group, Mr. Yammin stated he is a member of the group and he will never feel shy admitting it but he is not the leader and the group is an official structure in the party
“I told you the other day I am not a leader of the Hawks, I am just a member and a proud one at that. The President is the Commander-In-Chief of Delta Forces, Invisible Forces, Kandahar and the rest, how can he ask us to disband our group? We are not going to disbanding the Hawks today or tomorrow”, he disclosed.

Mr. Joseph Yammin revealed that the leader of the group is a member of the security committee of the party and he takes part in party security meetings so it’s never true that the party does not recognize the group.
