A Nigerian lady identified as Joyce Blessing has been arrested by the Weija Police for allegedly stealing and selling newborn babies alongside a cleaner identified as Shirley Nyarko.
According to the Weija District Police Commander Chief Superintendent Diana Tei Enniful confirmed that Shirley the cleaner agreed to buy the baby from its teenage mother for GH?2000.

She went on to say that Shirley tried to buy the baby from its 16-year-old mother and sell it to Joyce who has experienced several miscarriages and is desperately in need of a child in order to save her marriage.
The 16year-old mother also revealed that she was informed by Shirley to be given an amount of GH?2000 so that she could allow a woman to take care of her newly born baby but had no idea they were planning to sell the 4 days old baby. She said she directed her to go see her grandmother who also consulted her pastor so they could go see the people.

It was the Pastor who reported the matter to the police that effected the arrest of the two suspects.
